Cutting Area Cutting Zone 3 Map v1.2
A skidding is the movement of wood from the cutting area from the trees to the loading points. Skidding is the most important operation in the logging process – it accounts for 25-30% of labor costs for logging operations and 9-11% of all labor costs for the logging complex.
The need for this operation is obvious, because with the help of forest vehicles or narrow-gauge transport it is impossible to take wood directly on the cutting area. It must first be collected. The purpose of skidding is just collecting timber from a relatively large area on specially prepared loading areas near logging roads.
Skidding is a transport operation, but it differs sharply from other modes of transport. Due to the fact that skidders move across a vast territory and work in the same cutting area within a short period, no capital expenditures are made here to make the route. Therefore skidding is carried out in exceptionally difficult conditions-when it is completely off-road, on any ground in summer or on snow virgin soil in winter, with the overcoming of numerous obstacles in the form of stumps, windmills, boulders, etc. Skidding machines operate at very low speeds (1-1, 5 m / s), but they develop significant traction efforts. Skidding is carried out at relatively short distances: usually up to 300 m, sometimes up to 500-700 m and only very rarely – up to 1 km.
Attention:
The plot map for the simulator, is constructed for export of the forest by a skidder from a long felling area. For this purpose, the tractor LKT-81 from Sergey Denisov (muzden (rus)) has already been registered on the map with all the necessary tools for exporting the forest.
