Barak is a one- or two-story building intended for living, with a shared kitchen and a sanitary unit, usually wooden, designed for a short service life of 10 – 20 years
A large number of huts were built in the USSR by the cities of the Volga region and the Urals during the Great Patriotic War to accommodate workers of industrial enterprises evacuated to these regions from the western regions of the country.
